These are REPRODUCTIONS on canvas of the original 48x60” acrylic + mica painting on canvas, Karmic Origins.

Details of the reproduction and additions as follows:

• Canvas print measures 9x12” with a depth of 1.25” 

• The canvas is presented on solid wood stretcher bars, gallery wrapped, (stapled on the back,) and fade resistant.

• Reproduction made with high quality archival inks.

• Based on the textured elements from the original, the canvas reproductions are hand embellished with the addition of paint on the profile (sides) of the canvas and the addition of the mica medium mimicking the original! 

• FYI: Mica refers to a group of silicate minerals known for their ability to be split into thin, elastic sheets. There is an art material used to adhere mica in small, flat pieces appearing like natural mineral glitter. 

• This piece comes ready to hang!

• Signed on the back by yours truly.

A little insight into the inspiration of the original painting…

Karma / The Grand Implication of Duality

It is true the intensity of sorrow expressed in the painting is palpable, the radiance of compassion unleashed within imbues a potency of cosmic scale. This extreme heartbreak and pure love leave behind the purity of nature, the beauty in being. Our capacity to experience total darkness and blinding light is the very nature of their relationship as one entity.

The figurative imagery in this painting was inspired b the 19th century marble sculpture titled, The First Funeral, by Louis-Ernest Barrias, The sculpture depicts the story of Adam + Eve carrying the body of their murdered son Abel, the victim of his brother Cain's jealousy. The impulse to paint the imagery was in its sheer impact the mystical impulse that comes over any creator. The message beyond language, a space without containment. The choice to title the painting Karmic Origins was made by my own conflating and integrating the stories we tell from all times + places; ends and beginnings of the earth to make sense of flashes of consciousness inspiring the inherent longing to make sense of existence and unburden ourselves from the impossibility of not having absolute answers.
